PANJIM: The President’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service has been conferred on Director of Fire & Emergency Services Ashok Menon, Station Fire Officer Harichandra Naik, Sub-Officer Kashinath Sail and Driver Operator Bhiso Gawas by Ministry of Home Affairs. The awards will be presented on Republic Day at Campal ground.
Menon, joined Goa Fire Service in 1986 as an assistant Station Fire Officer. He is an Associate Member and Graduate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers in India and United Kingdom. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management and is having Advanced Diploma in Fire Engineering from National Fire Service College, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nagpur.
Menon has completed Training for Instructors Course in Thailand and undergone Road Traffic Accident Course and First Aid at Work – Trauma Management conducted by West Midlands Fire Service in the UK.
SFO Naik joined Goa Fire Service in November 1978. He was awarded Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for meritorious services on December 19, 2005. SO Sail joined the department in year 1974 and has been awarded with the Goa Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service in 2001.
DO Gawas joined the department in 1979 and has shown keen interest in his duties.
