Principal alleges water shortage at Pernem ITI

PANJIM: The Principal of Pernem Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Dattaprasad Palni has alleged water shortage at the institute while seeking from the Public Works Department to take action at the earliest. 

The staff and students have been facing water scarcity since February 13, leading to sanitisation problem and hampering of various works.

“As water is basic necessity for washing toilets, drinking purpose and the situation which is dangerous as per the COVID-19 pandemic, to wash hands regularly, this institute has to suffer lots of problems and resulting in hampering of training to trainees due to irregular water supply,” reads a letter to the Assistant Engineer (PWD) Pernem. The institute has around 250 trainees and 20 staff attending classes and training sessions every day.
