PANJIM: Congress has demanded an enquiry into the travel and participation of the Tourism Minister’s family along with a delegation of the Tourism Department at the Arabian Travel Mart in Dubai.
GPCC media committee convenor Trajano D’Mello accepting the clarification of the Tourism Minister Manohar Babu Ajgaonkar that the government did not pay for his family’s travel and stay, questioned the source of the funding.
“His brother and sister-in-law are both government servants on this tour. As government servants, have they taken govt sanctions to leave the country? As government servants they should disclose the source from where they paid for their tickets and from where they are paying for their stay”, he questioned.
Trajano demanded an enquiry by the Chief Minister through the Chief Secretary in the travel of the family of the Tourism Minister. He alleged that the expenses were being paid by the contractors handed over the orders to execute the tourism travel marts.
