BICHOLIM: Police Sub-Inspector Kiran Mamledar attached to Bicholim Police Station died in an accident on Sunday midnight at around 3 am.
Mamledar was a resident of Durbhat, Ponda. According to Bicholim Police, the deceased was travelling in his car from Durbhat to Bicholim via Sanquelim to attend his duties at Bicholim Police Station. However, when he reached a water tank situated on the Sanquelim-Bicholim main road at Kulan he suddenly lost control over his vehicle and dashed against the right side of a hillock and his vehicle turned turtle.
In the impact, he sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot. Bicholim Police rushed to the spot after receiving the information and shifted him to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he was declared brought dead.
His body was handed over to his family members for final rites on Monday. Bicholim police are further investigating into the matter.
