Barely a week after a Hungarian, Spanish and Goan were robbed at Naikka Vaddo in Calangute, a couple from Pune were robbed of Rs 15,000, a vehicle and two mobile phones in a similar situation at Calangute on Wednesday night.
According to Calangute Police, the couple was on their way to the guesthouse at Gaura Vaddo-Calangute when they were intercepted by two persons on an internal road, who demanded cash, by using a pistol-like object.
Afraid of their lives, the duo immediately handed over cash of Rs 15,000 and two mobile sets. The persons then made good their escape on the black-coloured Honda Activa scooter (GA-04-T-3572).
“We have taken the incidents very seriously and are making our best efforts to nab the culprits, who it is believed are involved in the earlier crime as well,” PI Nolasco Raposo told Herald.
Calangute Police is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Nolasco Raposo.
It may be recalled that on August 25, two foreign nationals and a Goan were robbed at gunpoint by two unknown persons on a motorcycle.
The incident had occurred when Karen Roach of Calangute along with her friends Imyigo Andanaz (Spanish national) and Petra Andits (Hungarian national) were returning home on their motorcycle after dinner at the night pubs at Baga and Calangute in the wee hours of Wednesday.
