Following recent amendment to the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, the task of dividing Panchayat area into wards and reservation of seats is assigned to State Election Commission (SEC) in consultation with the Government. Accordingly, on November 23, SEC directed Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) (mamlatdars/ Joint mamlatdars) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO) (Awal Karkuns/head clerks) to utilise the draft electoral roll of the Goa Legislative Assembly published on November 1, to form village panchayat wards and submit draft proposal.
