On the filth in the market
Surendra: The labourers and hamalis who buy week’s ration from the market spit paan on the walls. How can we control them? Sweeping is carried out thrice a week but the vegetable vendors throw the remains on the ground dirtying the premise. One truck is always parked behind the market to collect the waste.
On why repairs are not done?
We need one crore rupees for re-roofing of the market but we have no funds. We even pay electricity and water bills to the tune of Rs 1 crore every year. Govt is not paying us a single rupee; neither do shops pay us rent.
On the delay in starting the third phase
We have to first clear, sort out and finalize everything related to the first and second phase. We have to weed out unwanted elements because there are many who say ‘I am there’. Legal occupants should sign the lease agreement with us.
