The Civil Supplies conducted raid in Ponda city and surrounding villages at Kavlem, Nagueshi and Farmagudi and seized 26 subsidised domestic gas cylinders which were used for commercial purpose by about 12 commercial establishments.
The raid was conducted after the Civil Supplies Department and gas company officials received several complaints regarding misuse of domestic gas cylinders for commercial purpose despite warning against the misuse.
Civil Supplies Inspector Sarita Verenkar, Nayana Chari, Deepak Narvekar and HP Company official Arvind Singh conducted the raid and took custody of the 26
gas cylinders.
