Rains submerge Adpoi ferry wharf

“It’s risky to enter with the vehicles in the ferry when water gushes in,” villagers said.

PONDA: Adpoi ferry commuters have demanded that the wharf and approach road here be elevated as it gets submerged during the rainy season.

Commuters say it’s risky to travel along this route though it is a short cut to reach their destination and added that the water level here rises in the rains and the situation is worse when there is a high tide at the Zuari river.

“It’s risky to enter with the vehicles in the ferry when water gushes in,” villagers said.

It may be recalled that the ferry service here was started a decade ago since it was a short cut to reach Rasoi. Villagers now feel that the answer to the vexatious issue could be found if the ramp and approach road is elevated at the earliest.
