MARGAO: Sahitya Academy presented the prestigious Bal Sahitya Puraskar (Children Literature Award) upon Rajshree Bandodkar Karapurkar at a function held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore-Chennai, recently.
Rajshree was among the 23 writers in Indian languages who was conferred this prestigious award on Children’s Day where Sahitya Academy President Chandrashekar Kambhar presented the awards while eminent Tamil poet Vairamuthu, who has won many awards, was the chief guest.
Vairamuthu, in his address, appreciated the hard work put in by those writing children literature and said it was very difficult to do in present times where topics such as science and environment grab the centre stage.
Rajshree who is teaching Physics at PES Higher Secondary School, Ponda was conferred the award for her book on science and environment titled “Chitkulya Chinkiche Viahsl Vishv”.
