MARGAO: Additional Sessions Judge II Sayonara Teles Laad acquitted Virendra Prabhudessai of the charges of rape over an incident that occurred in the second week of March 2010 and continued for two years till July 22, 2012.
As per the complaint, Virendra came to the victim’s house in the afternoon one day and after asking for water to drink administered stupefying drugs to the soft drink initially offered by the victim to him. While he drank the water he asked the victim to have the soft drink after which she felt unconscious.
When the girl woke up she realized that her clothes were removed and she was sexually assaulted.
However, the judge acquitted him of the charges based on the various contradictory statements the victim made in the court.
