Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh calls for caste census in Goa

PONDA: The Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh in Goa, representing 19 communities, has formally requested the State government to conduct a caste-wise census, aligning with the methodology implemented by the Bihar government.

Madu Naik, the President of Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh, along with other office bearers, addressed the media on Tuesday, emphasising the necessity of a caste census to ensure justice for the Bahujan Communities in Goa. Naik urged the Goa government to follow the model set by Bihar, where a caste-wise census has been successfully executed.

Present at the briefing were working president Padmanab Amonkar, Secretary Survesh Bandodkar, Aditya Chodankar, and other prominent members.

Naik highlighted the importance of understanding the exact population of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Goa for effective developmental planning.
