MARGAO: Ponda MLA Ravi Naik criticized the government for cutting hills to build flyovers and elevated roads. “It’s good that highways are coming up but we don’t want flyovers,” he said.
Naik who briefed the press after the SGPDA meeting in Margao, highlighted the effectiveness of traffic circle stating that there is a circle near Farmagudi but there has never been an accident because people go slow around the circle.
“Even Delhi and Bangalore have circles. Our hills are cut to build these flyovers. Goa receives very heavy rain. During monsoon, the water will get into the mud, the side walls (of the flyover ramps) will collapse,” he warned.
