PONDA: The residents of Parwada in Usgao have urged the Director of Education to repair the local government primary school, taking advantage of the summer vacation.
The residents say that the roof of the school is in immediate need of repair as the same is in a dilapidated condition. The residents say that they fear sending their children to school as its roof could collapse anytime.
School PTA President Rohidas Naik said that though hardly a month is left for the school reopening, the authorities concerned haven’t taken their request seriously, as no repair work has been taken up so far.
He said, in the past, he had submitted many memorandums to ADEI requesting the officer to repair the school. However, Naik said, the ADEI did nothing to repair the school even after inspecting its condition once.
Naik informed that in the past, there were two incidents of tiles falling in classrooms after the ribs broke.
“However, there were no injuries as the incidents occurred after the class hours,” he said.
