MARGAO: Even as the Colva police have failed to lay their hands on accused bouncer Basilio alias Pokod Rathos, the fate of the two police constables attached to the Colva police hangs in balance as the inquiry report into the escape episode is ready for the perusal of the South Goa SP for action.
South Goa Superintendent of Police, Shekhar Prabhudessai, who was camping in Vasco on Saturday, informed that he hasn’t received the inquiry report from Margao Sub-Divisional Police Officer, DySP Mohan Naik. He said he remained preoccupied with investigations into the Vasco rape case.
Meanwhile, the Colva police have for the second day today failed to lay their hands on accused Basilio who escaped from their custody on Thursday night while being escorted to the Margao police lock-up from Colva.
DySP Mohan Naik said that police parties are making all out efforts to trace the accused persons, while admitting that attempts made to nab him proved futile till date. Police are investigating.
