PANJIM: Revolutionary Goans (RG) lashed out at the BJP-led government for failing to address the issues of power woes in St Andre Constituency and criticised Francis Silveira for failing to solve the power woes.
They listed the problems faced by the student community, people who need medical attention and those who are working from home, amongst others.
“The people of St Andre Constituency have been facing power outages almost every day over the last two months causing several difficulties to them,” said RG President Viresh Borkar.
RG added that the 33kv line between Old Goa and Pilar sub-station has not been replaced for the last 36 years and that the power sub-station at Pilar needs to be upgraded. They demanded that underground cabling system be installed in the constituency, which they felt would bring an end to the power woes faced by the locals.
“Frequent power cuts and fluctuations have turned out to be a daily affair. Even if we call the toll-free complaint number, they abruptly cut it or put us on hold and forget that we are waiting. We are disappointed with the power situation across Goa,” he added.
