Rickshaw operators want in on pension scheme

MARGAO: The All Goa Rickshaw Operators Action Committee has urged Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar to extend benefits of the Pension Yojana scheme to the black and yellow auto rickshaw drivers.

The Committee has also knocked on the doors of the newly-elected Panjim MLA Sidharth Kuncolienkar to use his good offices and take up the issue with the government.
Committee president Shaikh Abdul Salaskar pointed that the rickshaw operators had requested ex-chief minster Manohar Parrikar at least on 10 different occasions, but in vain.
He said the auto rickshaw operators are only asking the government to include them in the Pension Yojana scheme on par with motorcycle pilots.
