CANACONA: Seeking to dispel Congress allegations that no development has taken place in Canacona takuka during the last two years, the BJP has claimed to have taken up development works to the tune of Rs 192 crore, besides making payments under different schemes worth Rs 15.8 crore.
The BJP campaign party under the leadership of Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar has been presently distributing xerox copies of various developmental works initiated by the government in Canacona. The BJP claims to have provided 285 residents with government jobs, while 236 registration cards were issued by the government to senior citizens.
Tawadkar claimed that road works have been initiated in various parts of Canacona taluka. According to the list, works involving the irrigation department were also taken up in various parts of the taluka.
