Rs 58.77 lakh fines collected for not wearing masks, public spitting

PANJIM: The State government has collected fines of Rs 58.77 lakh in form of fines for not wearing masks and public spitting, Information Secretary Sanjay Kumar informed.

He said that 7,361 cases were booked for spitting while 14,501 persons challaned for not wearing masks.

“A total fine of Rs 58,77,000 was collected for not wearing masks and public spitting,” he stated.

The Information Secretary disclosed that 32,860 people have left by trains from Goa as all arrangements have been made to facilitate migrant movements.Approximately 70,000 to 90,000 migrant workers are still awaiting trains to respective destinations,” he said.
