PANJIM, NOV 8
Moving a step ahead of being Hindu-centric, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday said their fresh endeavour in Goa is to include the minority community in its work towards nation building.
Addressing a press briefing, RSS (Goa Unit) chief Subhash Velingkar said that nearly 200 Muslim people participated at a function hosted by RSS in Mapusa on Sunday.
“All terrorists belong to a particular community. It however does not mean that everyone belongs to that faith, are terrorists. Terrorism has nothing to do with religion,” he said without naming any religious community.
The press conference was basically to announce RSS plans to hold ‘dharna’ on November 10 near Kadamba Bus Stand to oppose against the policies of “Congress” in defaming RSS.
“It is an international conspiracy to defame us. It is not a simple thing… Congress said this (RSS) is a terrorist group, which is a systematic and a conspiracy against us to attract Muslim vote banks…,” he lamented.
The chief said that efforts are on to polarise patriotic Muslims, who have whole heartedly contributed for the welfare of the country.
“RSS leaders have successfully implemented the mission of polarising patriotic Muslim population in Kashmir,” he said.
He added, “In Goa, Muslim brethren celebrate festivities like Raksha Bandhan and others which are hosted by RSS workers.”
The organisation was anguished with the attitude of the Congress Government of targeting RSS and not taking up issues like Jihad, Kashmir terrorism and other matters seriously.
“Writer Arundati Roy who wrote against Kashmir is not arrested,” he added.
The chief stated that the investigating agencies, be it the Anti-Terrorist Squad or Central Bureau of Investigation, are puppets of the Government. He said that the 85-year-old organisation never launched street protest.
“But with Sonia Gandhi-led UPA continuing their anti-RSS agenda, we have strongly decided to hold nationwide dharnas,” Velingkar said.
Criticising further, he said that the Congress-led Government has spared terrorists like Afzal Guru and other anti-Indians.
“There were three attempts to shut our organisation but we neither did react nor act violently. We instead adopted legal means,” he said.
At the same time, he mentioned that RSS have filed 75 cases against NCERT for distorting facts of the text books and have won all the cases.
Smelling foul about US President Obama Barack’s India visit, Velingkar said the visit is perhaps to pressurise the Indian government to complete the remaining points of the pact signed by the then Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Referring to reports leaked by the media, he said that five points are already implemented by the Indian Government like paper visa traveling between India and Pakistan, starting official trade, withdrawal of several thousand army and para-military forces and others.
He also said it was learnt that families of the terrorists are extended full support to rehabilitate them. “The whole reason is that India does not become a super power. This is an attempt by the US to help Pakistan,” he alleged.
