According to police, Faterpekar, a billing clerk at the Vasco RTO, had committed fraud by deleting the transaction records from the computer after issuing receipts to applicants.
Internal investigation by the RTO officials revealed that Faterpekar had committed fraud of around Rs 5 lakh. A case under Section 409 of IPC has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
