MARGAO: The Madgaum Urban Co-operative Bank Limited (MUCB) branches on Tuesday witnessed a mad rush of depositors; however bank liquidator S V Naik in a notice appealed them to claim their deposits within two months.
Naik also asked the bank locker holders to surrender the lockers and take custody of their valuables by September 30.
The liquidator has issued a notice in this regard and has appointed Kishor Surya Amonker as the designated officer for further clarification.
Speaking to Herald Amonker said the notice has been published under Rule 129 (4) of the Goa Co-operative Societies Rules, 2003, calling upon all depositors having claims against the MUCBL to submit the duly filled “Depositors Claim Form” within two months at the bank’s respective branches.
“The claims received will be investigated and decided on the basis of bank account books, and as per the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) general terms and conditions,” he said.
He further said all the locker holders are requested to arrange for the surrender of lockers and take custody of their valuables on or before September 30, 2021.
The depositor should submit their original term deposit receipt/passbook of account held, duly discharged while submitting the claims, and depositors should carry original documents of identity proof/residence proof for verification.
