PANJIM: A team of Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Friday arrested a Russian for possessing commercial quantity of synthetic drugs valued at Rs 18.55 lakh.
The 33-year-old identified as Aleksandr Kurganov alias Alex was caught red handed with 186 gms of suspected Ecstasy tablets from his rented room at Arambol. He has been arrested under relevant sections of the NDPS following raid early Friday morning.
Incidentally, Pernem is largely frequented by Russian visitors and the destination is known for holding late night parties.
ANC officials said that the alleged peddler has confessed of his involvement in the illegal trade.
