PONDA: The villagers of Ramnathi, Kavlem and Bandora have opposed to the “illegal” four-wheeler parking by Sanatan members on the pathway at Ramnathi, opposite the Sanatan Ashram.
The locals complain that the vehicles are dangerously parked on the roadside opposite the ashram due to which the locals and tourists are forced to walk on the road, risking their lives.
On Friday, as per the resolution passed by Bandora gram sabha, the Ponda Police, Traffic Cell and panchayat members inspected the area. On the occasion, Sarpanch Ramchandra Naik said, “Following the complaints by the locals, the inspection of the roadside parking was done today.”
“The locals have complained saying it was causing hardship to them due to parking as they have to walk on the road,” Sarpanch Naik mentioned.
A local Saurab Lotlikar said the inspection was done on Friday following a resolution to clear the roadside parking opposite the Sanatan Ashram.
