PANJIM: Sanatan Sanstha has demanded an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the October 12 petrol bomb attack on its vehicle carrying ‘seekers’.
In a press statement, Virendra Marathe, Managing Trustee of Sanatan Sanstha Ramnathi said fortunately the ‘seekers’ escaped the attack as the petrol bomb exploded a few metres away.
Marathe further said that on the same night, stones and glass bottles were pelted on Sanatan’s vehicle carrying ‘seekers’.
A complaint has been lodged with the Ponda Police in respect of both the incidents, he said. Acting on the complaint, the police inspected the site and seized the bottles used as petrol bombs.
Marathe further informed that a similar incident occurred in November 2014, wherein two petrol bombs were hurled at Sanatan Ashram by some anti-social elements. They also tried to set a Sanatan four-wheeler parked at Kapileshwari, Kavali, ablaze.
Sanatan has claimed it as a terrorist activity and demanded an investigation by NIA.
“Sanatan further demands that the State Government register offences against the anti-social elements and initiate an inquiry by the National Investigation Agency,” Marathe added.
