SANGUEM: Sanguem Congress workers at a meeting on Sunday resolved not to allocate party ticket to new entrant.
The resolution could dent the hopes of Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar, who has been eying the Congress ticket to contest from Sanguem in the upcoming elections. The workers resolved to demand allocation of ticket to any worker who has been working for the party in Sanguem till date.

The meeting was attended by GPCC president Girish Chodankar, South Goa District president Joe Dias, Sanguem Block In-charge Manohar, Sanguem Block president Josephine Rodrigues, Kisan Morcha president Abhijit Dessai and others.
The workers warned the leaders of serious consequences the party would have to suffer if Congress allocates the ticket to new entrant.
The warning followed given the recent move and meeting of Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar to join Congress. The workers informed Chodankar that they are not averse to any person joining the party but what they oppose is the allocation of ticket to any new entrant.
Chodankar urged the party workers from Sanguem to continue with the membership drive and to enrol at least another 2000 members before the elections.
Chodankar called upon the workers to complete the task of forming a new block committee and other frontal organisations in the constituency.
Josinho D’Costa, Jervis Fernandes, Prakash Bhagat, Jeetendra Naik and Rajnikant Naik were also present.
