VALPOI: The students of Government College at Sanquelim have complained that they are facing problems of poor power supply, lack of water and dirty washrooms. The student strength of the college is 1,500.
Faced with a host of issues, the students met the college principal on Saturday and brought to his attention the problems faced by them at the college.
The students say that the class rooms are not electrified properly; there is no drinking water since past many days; and the washrooms are so dirty that they have stopped using the facility.
“We are facing the water shortage and power supply problem in our college because of GSIDC, which has not carried out maintenance works of the college since last four years,” a student said.
When questioned on the difficulties faced by the students, the college principal said, “I have already written to the electricity, PWD, and the GSIDC regarding the basics problems that we are facing in the college. But they have not taken any action till date.”
