MARGAO: With the opening of new Zuari Bridge, Sanvordem locals want more buses to ply via Margao to Panjim and not through the old route via Ponda, which they say is time consuming.
“Sanvordem to Panjim direct bus service is via Ponda route. Sanvordem to Panjim via Margao, there is only a morning shuttle and commuters take Sanvordem to Margao shuttle and then Margao to Panjim shuttle which is time consuming. Since the road connectivity is faster than ever in Goa, there should be more direct shuttles from Sanvordem to Panjim via Margao bypass,” said artiste Saidutt Kamat.
It may be recalled that the demand for buses on various routes had been raised at the recently held meeting of South Goa Zilla Panchayat (SGZP).
There have been calls made by locals of rural areas in particular as well villages in the South District to improve the bus connectivity to Margao and other important routes including towards Panjim.
