PANJIM: Sao Matias panchayat sarpanch and the panchayat secretary and staff met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and apprised him of the issues faced by the panchayat.
The meeting was regarding development works such as setting up of a shopping complex, hot mixing of roads, having a 10-bedded hospital, construction of a bridge and grants-in-aid, it was informed.

The Chief Minister assured them that he would look into the demands on priority.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that he will look into the demand in retaining the panchayat secretary, who has been transferred to another village panchayat. However, the same panchayat secretary was currently holding the additional charge of Sao Matias Village Panchayat.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister Govind Gaude on Thursday visited the Sao Matias Village Panchayat, Divar, for inspection of the sports ground and sports hall.
The Minister promised to see to the improvement of the sports ground and sports hall.
“The condition of the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) ground is in bad condition. The Sports Minister carried out an inspection of the SAG ground. He assured the villagers to carryout maintenance work of the ground and the sports complex,” it was informed.
