MARGAO, NOV 2
The president of the Citizens Welfare Committee Savio Dias has quit the post with immediate effect.
In a letter to the acting secretary, Dias said that he had worked to the best of his abilities and took moral responsibility on all issues taken up by the CWC.
Meanwhile, Dias has told Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to stop boasting that people of Margao have voted for development and elected Congress backed councillors at the recent Municipal elections.
“As the Chief Minister of Goa and Margao MLA holding TCP portfolio, Kamat has failed to follow the proper procedure to prepare the Outline Development Plan of Margao (ODP), which is the base of a city development. People can see the pathetic state of Margao Bus Stand, Margao SGPDA fish market conditions, traffic congestion and parking problems, garbage nuisance, etc, in the hometown of the Chief Minister. What is the development, the Chief Minister is talking about. We can see the Margao Ring Road work suspended for last two years”, he added.
