PANJIM: Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has indirectly ruled out ban on right wing Hindu outfit Sanatan Sanstha, which is in news for its alleged involvement in the murder of Communist party leader and writer Govind Pansare.
“If any member of the organization has committed murder following organization mandate, then there has to be action. But if it is not, then, it wont be appropriate,” Parrikar said responding to the question on ban on Sanatan.
“Any organization ban has to be properly documented with evidences and then only it can pass through legal scrutiny,” he added.
However, he also clarified that “any organization that continuously encourages and promotes violence to impose its ideology, then such organizations cannot be allowed to be part of democracy”.
To yet another question, Parrikar also ruled out nation wide beef ban, stating that the decision involves several aspects and as a government, “we have to consider them all.”
“Government decision has to be based on various issues including sensitivity towards certain section, cruelty to animals, etc. Everyone needs to be considered….only one view cannot be base for taking such decision,” he said.
