PANJIM, JULY 2
Julio Lobo, a friend of the British minor Scarlet Keeling whose semi-clad body was found on Anjuna beach on the morning of February 19, 2008, made his deposition before Children’s Court on Friday.
Lobo who was initially named accused in the charge-sheet filed by local police, was subsequently absolved of all charges. The case was made over CBI as local police came under fire for shoddy investigation.
Making his deposition as a witness on Friday, Julio told the Court that he had dropped Scarlet at Curlies Shack in Anjuna and later to another eatery in the area where she had gone to meet her friend.
He was supposed to meet her later in the evening and take her home but she was untraceable, he told the Court further adding that she was found dead at the beach on the next morning. The Court is likely to examine one of the eye-witnesses Murli Sagar on the next date of hearing. Murli Sagar was working at Curlies Shack at the time of the incident.
