PANJIM: After Class IX and XI, even the primary and upper primary students will be evaluated throughout the entire term for the current academic year 2021-22.
The State Council for Education, Research and Training (SCERT) has written to all the primary and upper primary schools with regards to the “scheme of assessment” in view of current COVID pandemic situation.

For Class I students the assessment of total 50 marks- 10 marks each will be carried out in July, August, September, first week and last week of October, while for Class II, it will be in December, January, February and First and last week of March.
For Classes III to IV, assessment will be carried out four times in Term-l (July to October) and in Term-II (December to March) respectively.
The assessment of performance in Classes I & II will be mostly in Oral, whether online or offline and the tests should consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and objective type questions.
Similarly, for Classes V to VII, assessment will be undertaken four times in Term-I (July to October) and in Term-II (December to March).
On the other hand, the students of Class VIII will be evaluated based on the assessment done thrice in each of the terms.
For both primary and upper primary, the schools have been asked to decide the appropriate mode of assessment that is offline or online depending on the ground realities.
The SCERT said the results of each and every Tests/Assessment conducted, will be used for providing feedback to students to improve learning.
Apart from the SCERT specified test, schools are granted liberty to conduct periodical assessment (Oral/Paper-Pencil tests/ assignment/quiz etc.) at the end of each chapter/topic/sub-topic and maintain the records for feedback and improvement of performance.
