PANJIM: Directorate of Education (DoE) confirmed that free raincoats, note books and uniforms have been distributed across Goa except for uniforms in one taluka.
Speaking to Herald, Education Director G P Bhat said, “The distribution of free raincoats, notebooks and uniforms for students of government and aided primary school across Goa has been completed except for one taluka where we have received a complaint that uniforms have not been distributed. The delay is caused because of the supplier that is Khadi and Village Industries.”
Over 90,000 students studying in government and aided primary institutions are eligible for free raincoats, notebooks and uniforms. Education Department had promised to supply the items by June 15 but there was a delay. The delay in distribution has become an annual affair in which primary school student have receive the items almost a month after schools begin.
