MARGAO: Goa Seafarers Association of India (GSAI) welcomed the government decision to start vaccinating seafarers between the ages of 18 to 44 thus joining other States like Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh who had started it earlier.
The Association President Frank Viegas said the announcement has come as a big relief to seafarers in Goa.
Frank also suggested that the government have a talk in vaccination programme for seafarers who are scheduled to join the ships within the next two months and further asked that the vaccination for seafarers be undertaken at MPT which is designated venue by the Director General for shipping.
