PANJIM: The public has been invited by the State Election Commission to check their names and particulars in the draft publication of electoral rolls before November 30.
The public was further informed that the final electoral rolls in respect of all the 40 Assembly constituencies of Goa will be published on January 5, 2022. This is in relation to the Special Summary Revision 2022 of electoral rolls with reference to January 1, 2022 as the qualifying date will be.
Furthermore, the schedule for various stages of special summary revision of photo electoral rolls of intensive nature- 2022 was given.
First on that list, is the publication of integrated draft electoral rolls on November 1, that is Monday.
Then is the period for filing of claims and objections that is between November 1 and 30.
After that is the disposal of claims and objections before December 20, 2021. And then there is the final publication of Electoral Rolls on January 5, 2022.
It was also revealed that the number of electors in Goa dropped by 0.41 per cent after the last revision. The electors as per the final roll previously published on January 15, 2021 with reference to January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date, was 11,44,987. Whereas, after revision with continuous updation in the draft publication to be published on November 01, 2021, the total number of electors will be 11,40,274. The percentage change over the previous roll is -0.41 per cent.
There is also 100 per cent photo coverage (general electors) along with 100 per cent EPIC coverage. Total overseas electors enrolled as on date is 78. The overall percentage of the EPICs will attain 99.99 per cent for the State of Goa, during the current revision of electoral roll.
