Commissioner said that SEC has no role in reservation process and has to depend on the government notification, pending which election schedule cannot be announced.

“Since we have received the notification, the election schedule will be worked out and announced accordingly,” Srivastava said refusing to disclose any details.

Government had recently postponed from March 15 to March 22 owing to celebrations like Holi and Shigmo coinciding with the scheduled week. Total 50 wards will go for polls.

With the election due in a month, the Code of Conduct is expected to come into force from Friday.
