Seniors attack staff and juniors after ragging complaint in Bengaluru Rural

Senior students at a private college in Devanahalli allegedly assaulted staff and first-year students after being confronted over repeated ragging incidents. A complaint by Midhun Madhavan, head of admissions at Akash Group of Institutions, led to a case against 22 students and an outsider, Naveen, on January 16. Police have arrested three accused so far, while efforts continue to track the others. The complaint states seniors forced juniors to perform humiliating tasks, and during a confrontation at a tea shop, the group assaulted victims with sticks, rods, and stones. Property damage and theft of a gold chain were also reported. Police are investigating and further arrests are expected.
