MARGAO: Although AAP candidates in the 8 constituencies of Salcete cumulatively polled 12.55 % of the total votes cast in the taluka, only one candidate could secure the deposit while other 7 forfeited it, including convenor Elvis Gomes.
Royla Fernandes, who secured 4182 votes is the only AAP candidate in Salcete to secure her deposit while all others in the remaining 7 constituencies forfeited it.
These include Siddarth Karapurkar who was at the fifth position with 1287 votes in Navelim and AAP Goa convener Elvis Gomes who was at fourth position in Cuncolim with 3437 votes. He needed another 262 votes to secure his deposit. In the other five constituencies, AAP candidates were at number 3 position as follows: Mariano Godinho with 3389 votes in Nuvem, Edwin Vaz with 2711 votes in Curtorim, Ranit Cotta Carvalho with 1479 votes in Fatorda, Santosh Pai Raiturkar with 1832 votes in Fatorda and Cruz Silva with 34423 votes in Velim.
