MARGAO: The South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) came under fire from city-based activists for ignoring an overflowing sewage chamber right under its nose.
Though the sewage chamber was found overflowing since the last couple of days, inundating the ground at the entrance to the Osia Commercial Complex, activists lamented that the sorry state of affairs failed to move the PDA into action.
United Goans Welfare Front General Secretary Laurel Abranches demanded to know why the SGPDA failed to take suo moto cognisance of the nuisance created by the overflowing chamber in the complex. “The overflowing sewage raised a stink in the complex, but no action was taken by the PDA. Was the SGPDA waiting for a complaint to initiate action,” Abranches demanded to know.
He demanded that the authorities immediately attend to the overflowing sewage chamber and give relief to the hundreds of citizens visiting the government and private offices housed in the Osia complex.
