Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said, “Some people are taking this levy collection as a lottery and making money with the bouncers. We have controlled ourselves due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If a system is not brought, our tribal sisters are enough to teach them a befitting lesson.”

Vijai said that they have demanded a system to be put in place in the market to make sure the market runs well or they won’t hesitate to close down the market.

Meanwhile, Malcolm Pereira from Chinchinim while speaking to media after the meeting alleged major corruption in the levy collection and has filed an application before the SGPDA asking for the work of collecting the charges. Malcolm said that if there is a tender he will bid for it.
