The shack allotment, through the lot system, will be held on Friday.
Addressing media persons, Parsekar said he has granted approval to the beach shack policy 2016-19 and has placed a note that an ex-post facto approval of the cabinet be taken during the next meeting.
“Total 364 shacks are permitted under the policy. GCZMA did not approve three shacks on Palolem beach,” he said.
GCZMA on Tuesday granted its approval to the Beach Shack Policy 2016-19 under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification for erection of temporary seasonal structures, beach shacks, huts for three years.
“The advertisement in this regard would be issued in Thursday’s newspaper and the allotment would be done on Friday for both North and South,” Parsekar said.
The Tourism Department had invited applications for 259 beach shacks in North Goa and 108 in South Goa.
