PONDA, JUNE 15
A 68-year-old man from Maingal in Tarvalem-Shiroda was found murdered at his house on Monday night.
Three relatives have been detained in connection with the death of Joaquim Colaco, Ponda police said.
According to reports, the incident took place at about 10.30 pm shortly after Joaquim had dinner at his house and went to an old house nearby to retire for the night.
The pet cats at the old house began to act in an unusual manner and this aroused the suspicion of the wife and their son. They went to the old house and found the lifeless body in the room.
They rushed him to the Shiroda PHC, where he was declared dead. An autopsy later established that Joaquim had died due to strangulation.
Acting on a complaint, Ponda police detained three relatives who were frequently involved in clashes with Joaquim. Investigations are in progress.
