Shootout case hearing posted for June 7

MARGAO: Sessions Judge-2 (FTC-II), Margao on Friday heard the jailor in famous shootout case, in which Amar Naik of Vaddem-Vasco was murdered and directed him to produce all the accused before the court. The case has now been adjourned to June 7.

It may be recalled that the Vasco police had filed  a charge sheet against three accused Shailesh Gupta (29) and Shivam Singh (22), both natives of Uttar Pradesh and Ravi Shankar Yadav (30), native of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. At present, all three accused are in judicial custody. 

The police investigation has revealed that Yadav, who was residing at Anjuna, had allegedly hired two contract killers Shailesh and Shivam. The two assailants, both from Mumbai and natives of Uttar Pradesh. 

Police sources said the girl’s brother was opposed to the love affair between his sister and the victim, as they belonged to different religions.
