With the Lok Sabha polls and three assembly by-polls approaching, the mood across the state still appears to be lukewarm.
However, with much at stake, it’s a different mood at the BJP camp with their two sitting MPs Shripad Naik and Narendra Sawaikar, chasing records of sorts in their quest for winning their respective seats.
In the North, Shripad Naik, who is the current Union AYUSH Minister, is contesting to win the elections for record fifth time – a feat achieved by none in North Goa.
Similarly, Sawaikar is campaigning hard to get re-elected from the South Goa constituency – a feat never achieved by any BJP candidate. Infact, Sawaikar is only the second BJP candidate to have been elected from South Goa, since liberation.
