PANJIM: Union Minister and North Goa Member of Parliament Shripad Naik on Tuesday assured to talk to the central government on the auctioning of mines that are on government land.
Replying to questions at a press conference he said, “I will talk to the central government about the auctioning of the mines in Goa which are on government property, the way the Centre has auctioned coal recently.”
Naik said that the mining areas need to be bifurcated as the mines in Goa are on government land as well as private property. Most of the mines in Goa are on government land and have been leased to private mining companies for the long term.
