PANJIM: Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo on Saturday said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured her that he will not allow the Sunburn electronic dance music (EDM) event at Vagator beach on December 31.
Lobo said, “For many years Sunburn has been organised on December 28, 29 and 30. I think this year they have declared to hold it on December 31 also. I only want to tell all my Anjunkars that I have already requested the Chief Minister that there would be inconvenience and the Chief Minister has assured me that Sunburn will not be held on December 31.”
The MLA further pointed out that the programme ends at 10 pm and it takes two to three hours to get the traffic cleared. “There is a total traffic mess and chaos. There are many hotels, restaurants and shacks and December 31 is the day when they have business. Keeping all things in mind I have requested the Chief Minister not to allow the event to be held on December 31 and he has assured me that it will not be held,” she reiterated.
