PANJIM: Siridao-Palem gram sabha has also unanimously resolved to oppose the inclusion of the village in the Greater Panjim Planning and Development Authority (GPPDA).
The villagers said that the present infrastructure of the village was not able to handle the load of existing population of the village and if the village comes under PDA, then, villagers fear that more land would be converted leading to the more residential buildings coming up in the village.
People said that village was already facing the acute shortage of water throughout the year and if more population is added to the existing one, then the situation would go out of hand.
Sarpanch Vasudev Kunkolinkar said that people strongly opposed to the inclusion of village in the GPPDA and hence the resolution was passed in the gram sabha.
He said that the sentiments of the people and the resolution of gram sabha would be conveyed to the government to roll back the decision of inclusion of village in PDA.
