CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Police arrested six persons, including two minors, for assaulting a senior citizen Vincent Pires (73) of Veroda in Cuncolim and robbing Rs 35,000 from him, on Tuesday.
The arrested persons are identified as Joy Inacio Pereira (21) from San Jose de Arriel, Anil Vishnu Itgukar (24) from Ambaulim but a native of Dhrward, Munib Hussain (18) from Quepem and Sujit Mahesh Roy Kumar from Ambaulim but a native of Bihar.
According to Cuncolim police, on Monday at 10.15 pm, when Pires was returning home from his bar on his scooter, he was assaulted and robbed of Rs 35,000.
Hearing the shouts of Pires, his son who was following his father identified the accused and informed the police.
