Six huts gutted in fire at Camra Bhat

PANJIM: Six huts belonging to Corporation of City of Panjim (CCP) workers were gutted in a fire as a result of cylinder blasts at Camra Bhat on Saturday.
No human lives were lost or any casualties reported, but a pet dog died in the accident that occurred at around 4.19 pm.
According to the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, three fire tenders were pressed into service and took nearly an hour to douse the fire. The situation was brought under control at around 5.20 pm, fire services personnel told Herald.
Property worth around Rs 4 lakh was lost while property worth Rs 10 lakh was saved by the fire fighters. “The hut of one of these families suffered a major loss. The blasts of two cylinders occurred in this. Luckily, no family member was present as they are away attending a wedding,” said an official quoting a prima facie report. 
As per details available, the huts belonged to Ramchadra Kholkar, Parshuram Gudanvar, Yeshwant Gudanvar, Sanjay Harijan, Baswani Pujari and Suresh Megeri.
